What passes for "creative" media

There's RevGals who have done some really good videos for sermon lead-ins or to go with the seasons of the Church... The standards for "good" keep changing. You won't see static images on a powerpoint with a dubbed song in the background any more...

Apparently, THIS is what is considered "creative" in media circles today.

Not only was it not funny... it was insulting. I know it was supposed to be a joke, but judging from the comments, it is also (unfortunately) too true. The problem with videos which are supposed to be "entertaining with a purpose" is that the main point is forgotten, and the behavior is what is remembered.

I'm not amused.

I look at crap like this, then look at my file full of good material and I reflect on being edged out of a job doing this and I conclude that perhaps God has left the building.

Don't get me wrong...cause I thought this video was pretty stupid...but why did you take offense? Like I said, I thought it was dumb and kinda pointless besides the fact that people aren't as "servant-hearted" as they believe. But I was offended by it. Just curious...

..because of the comments on the site from people who viewed it

...because I am tired of the man-cave attitude and I don't think it's funny

...because I know there is far better stuff out there to make the same point -- (a whole lot better edited) -- and is ignored

...because I showed it to my teens (girls) and they were disgusted by it - it's simply not "funny" any more to young adults

I have a vision and a goal of egalitarian ministry and mission... empowering women AND men - not at the expense of each other, but together - doing things which make the Kingdom stronger. And this video? doesn't cut it...
